Something New

Posted October 23, 2008

I need something new to watch, preferably a series but it's got to have action hopefully some martial arts and a decent story line.

My favourite type of shows are ones, where there is some sort of progression in terms of abilities, having to train to gain new powers or depict how they got their powers if they are already the most powerful.  I've seen most of the top rated shows of this kind,

Dragonball Z

Histories Strongest Disciple

Fist of the North Star

One Piece

Bleach

Naurto

MAR

Ruruoni Kenshin

Black Lagoon

to name a few I was wondering if they are any gems out there that I haven't seen.

I like shows if they have very good storylines, I liked Transformers when I was young but I'm not really a mecha person, if it's a mecha it has to be exceptional to grab my attention.

So is there any suggestions out there?
i forgot 2 animes: a nice martial arts anime, Shura no Toki

and, even if you're not a mecha person, after looking at your tracking list your probably gonna enjoy this one. Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny.
I've seen Shura no Toki, I really liked this anime wish there was some more really, I used to watch Gundam Wing on Fox Kids and I quite liked it so I'll give Gundam Seed a try.

You don't need to wait for the Yu Yu Hakusho series to be subbed it already was by Baka-Anime.

That is dual Audio. I actually recommend it in English, it is better than the Japanese I think. I know it is a big file but having the Dual Audio is awesome.

I love MAR and Blue Dragon but all releases for Blue Dragon just stopped so I am dissapointed.

Yu Yu Hakusho could be what you are looking for. It fits right into the discription you wanted. It is a great anime and is long so it can keep you entertained for a good while.

Also, Busou Renkin is great as well.

well, if you want martial arts anime you could try Ikki Tousen, although it's a bit heavy in the ecchi department. another one you might want to watch is Busou Renkin, although i haven't finished that one myself yet, so I can't promise anything. Or Rental Magice, if you don't mind magic.

Blood+ is an excellent anime, both for story and action.

You could try some older ones like Silent Mobius.

Or, my personal favorite - Mai Hime / Mai Otome. I think Mai Otome fits your tastes better though.

If you don't mind mahou shoujo animes, try Lyrical Nanoha. Nice storyline, good characters and a decent amount of action.

And then there's Sailor Moon. I know, I know, girls anime, but still. I know quite some guys who enjoyed it nonetheless, and in some ways its on a level that hasn't been reached again since then. Well, that's only my personal opinion though...

hope I could help, if not.... tell my, I'll think of something else.
