krrazy

wants to get busy!

Yep, just what the title says.

Are you all looking forward to a new decade in the world of anime, manga, dramas, video games and all things awesome like that?

Any predictions about anything at all for the new decade?

Suggestions on how to celebrate new year's eve?

and I have no internet.;_________;

I'm at the local library, hunched over my buddy's laptop, watching as Gintama takes 1 hr. 29 min. to download from realitylapse. All things considered, I'll have to cancel the download since I'm leaving in like, 10 minutes to go call the locksmith to see if he can't get my keys out of my car (because I have a penchant for locking them in).

School starts tomorrow...'nough said, although on the bright side I'll be taking Japanese 101. Hard work, but maybe I'll see if there are any more nerds in Idaho? though I did take an "anime movie watching" weekend class last semester and some of the people I met.....*is slightly scarred from the experience*

Sheesh, now I'm just feeling down and out (laaaaame). I miss being on the Subwire more often, I miss being on other forums I'm involved with. I miss being on MSN, I miss ... Facebook. >.> I never thought I'd miss Facebook. I really miss being able to catch up on series I've been watching.

On the brightside, at least I'll have internet access on campus. ^^

Hehehe...well at least its my birthday and I get birthday cake. xD

Celebrate my birthday well, subwire buddies :D :D :D

Sometimes I'm glad journals make the front page because then I get all happy and very much like -- aw, now everyone can share in what I'm thinking!

Then other times I'm like -- eh, I want to say it but now everyone's going to see how lame I can get. XD This is one of those times which is why I cleverly used a title involving the word, "mediocre" so that you awesome subwire kidz don't get too excited.

So as a double warning -- this journal is going to be Krrazy talking nonsense and unless you're bored, probably won't change your life much at all.

*cheers* for another season of anime in which I have barely watched anything! I blame it all on One Piece *proceeds to blame One Piece*

See it took me a year and a half to watch through the Alabasta arc. Then One Piece got really, really good and its taken me an unhealthily short amount of time to get into the middle of Water 7. Basically everytime I open my super hawt anime folder, I skip past the Basara and the FMA and the Eden to the One Piece. Which is okay because I am in love with One Piece, but at the same time I'm feeling kind of guilty for ignoring other darn good shows that want my attention.

Summer is going to "start" (i.e., University lets out) in a week...which normally would mean living the glorious nerd life until my eyes popped out...except this time I've got my own apt this year and I've got rent to pay and I'm going to be working full-time. o.O! So my amazing nerd hours shrink again and I'm pretty much convinced I'm going to be drowning in One Piece until the winter season comes around. By that time I'll have so much other anime to watch either my harddrive explodes or I have to say no to a series...but it is very hard to say no to anime. -.-'

In the end, I think it comes down to being all grown up AND being nerd is very, very difficult and delicate balance.

As such I wish I had known about anime during high school, it would have been a great way to fill all that free time I seemed to have.

Well April 10-12 was Sakuracon in Seattle, WA and I (with two other buddies) were crazy enough to attend. This was a first anime con for all of us. It was requested that I post a followup on our experience there.

but...what if I have no words to say?

What if it was like O.o in a good way, of course.

Well, that would be cheap...so I will try to explain just how crazy, insane and fun it was.

Or should I talk about our trip to the Woodland Park Zoo....? XD XD XD

We arrived Friday to register and ended up with our mouths hanging off our faces. I have never appreciated cosplay before, because I have only seen photos of it. Like, I mean I've seen say...behindinfinity's stuff on deviantart, and I've seen other great photos...but now I know, NOTHING compares to seeing a cosplay in real life. :D

The work that goes into the outfits, the weapons, the hair XD I'm glad I had my camera cuz I was dork the whole weekend snapping pictures.

At the same time, if you aren't wearing some kind of cosplay...you stand out. At least, we felt like we did.... >.> but I'm glad we didn't go in cosplay for our first time, I think I would have freaked if I had a 1,000,000 people asking for my photo all the time.

;D We're thinking of cosplaying next year though, and I'll be ready for the photo onslaught then. ^^

Other than cosplay, mmm...the exhibition hall? Which was way overpriced ;____; but it was pretty dang sweet to see all that merchandise for sale in one spot....and by merch, I mean A WHOLE LOT OF merch. There was hardly breathing room. I did score the Going Merry & Thousand Sunny ship replicas from One Piece and a few art books. :D :D :D ....if only I had had more $$$$...especially for doujinshi! did I mention I have never seen a doujinshi in real life before?! I have seen stuff scanlated online, but never held one or looked in one or.......well, I never knew they were sold at cons ahhhh.....a fangirl's dream

Artist's Alley was awesome too, wish I had spent more time hanging out there.

What else? what else? I'm sure most of you already knows what goes on at cons ^^ .... we went to the cosplay contest/masquerade (glad we did too! that was fun x1000)

Personally? I think my best experiences were definitely with the cosplayers, and attending cosplay photoshoots. I went to the Hitman Reborn, and then randomly stumbled across Soul Eater, Naruto and Bleach.

There is so much we missed though and I wish I could go back and do more. =P good thing there is next year!!!!

Until then, enjoy some pictures? ^^

no player hatin' on my TERRIBLE photo skillzzz though...I have a shaky hand, an old skool digital camera and a penchant for taking supremely blurry photos.

Sakuracon 09 - Krrazy goes crazy for cosplay

Well it is time for some crazy adventure! Tonight I fly out for my very first anime con. I'm nervous, excited, happy, nervous and excited and......you get the idea.

I've heard so many things about cons - both good and bad..... >.> any tips on how to have an excellent time?

I love anime.

Whether it is following my favorite Seiyuus, anticipating a new series, buying merchandise, watching fandoms (the good and the bad), admiring fanart, or exploring new genres (and re-exploring my old favorites)...I just really love everything about anime.

So from a humble anime fan, here's to all the wonderful people who create, produce, fansub! and sustain anime.

Thank you, you make me happy and in a really crazy sort of way - I love you.

 ^_____^

So I just finished reading the spring anime preview put together by Omni over at the RC blog and I'm excited. So many of the shows look like they'll be worth watching. :) Particulary since there hasn't been anything of interest (for me personally) in a long while.

Also, very noteworthy, GONZO (!!!) is going to try releasing some of their new projects online, with their own subtitles! I'll definitely be checking that out....and not just cuz I love GONZO or anything >.>

So now I have to go make sure my Subwire list is up to date so I don't miss any of the premiers once they've been subbed.

Have I mentioned I'm excited? :D :D :D
