You know, when you sleep, and you're woken up by something during the REM phase (aka, when you're dreaming), how for some moments reality merges with your dream, at least in your mind?
Today, I took a little nap (ok, it may have been more than a nap, since I was actually dreaming about... something). Actually, I just woke up, if you can call it that, about 5 minutes ago. Ok, story goes like this: I was dreaming about a circle - you know, the kind you draw on paper for... whatever? Anyway, my parents where in the city at the time. Now, while I was dreaming about a circle for mysterious reasons, my Mum came home. Since I was still awake when she left, she didn't really expect me to sleep. So, when no one answered her when she called "I'm back!" and all that stuff, she came up to my room and knocked (which woke me up) and said something I didn't quite catch, since I was still practically asleep, but for some reason I interpreted it as "You're locked up!". So those words, in connection with the mental picture of a circle, this time with me in the center, caused my mind to come to the conclusion that I can't get out of my room.
My first reaction was "What the hell?", so, of course, I got up to check. When I reached my door, I stared at the handle and the lock full of confusion, since I was absolutely sure that neither should be there, because I was couldn't get out after all - I had the mental picture of one of those plain wood doors with neither handle nor lock that you sometimes see in horror movies when someone's locked up.
So, still confused, I opened the door, which by the way wasn't locked at all, and just stared at my mum's face with what must have been a very blank expression. She asked "Were you sleeping?", to which I replied "Nah, I was locked up.", turned around and fell back onto my bed, leaving my Mum at least as confused as I was, and proceded to write this journal entry you're reading right now.
Anyone got similar experiences to share?
